Reviews from our guests

It was even better than we expected! I knew the food would be great, but whoever they contracted for the plays are great as well. You bet we'll be back!

What a thrill and a privilege to attend opening night of Steel Magnolias last night at The Vineyard Café and Dinner theater on the square in Marietta. There were lots of laughter through tears and the cast earned a standing ovation. If you love food and good theater, I highly recommend this venue

Thank you Betty for an awesome evening with great food and awesome cast of actors! They were all fantastic and each worked hard to capture their role. We will be back!

That was so much fun last night…

Thank you for such a memorable anniversary!!

Thank you to the serving staff, owners and management, & especially to the talented actors. We’ll see you again!!

Went to dinner theater tonight, was thoroughly entertained by their rendition of Steel Magnolias.. it was done on a small intimate stage, every seat is good..the characters came alive and for a while we all were patrons at Truvy's. Dinner was delicious. Staff was friendly..A wonderful, fun night. One thing to know. It all takes place up a steep narrow staircase with secure handrails on the right. I walk with a cane and a left handed rail would have helped. Just want people to know so they can plan accordingly. As hard as it was for me to navigate the stairs it was worth every hard won step. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

For the 2nd season we have attended here at Vineyard Café, we again salute the owners ! GREAT shows, GREAT acting, GREAT food, GREAT drinks (thanks to the season tic package which gives you a free drink with your tic !) Many laughs, a few tears shed (steel magnolias) but ALWAYS a good time. Now, when we have friends over or from out of town our ‘go to’ place to impress them is on Marietta square  and called The ‘vineyard café’…

Keep up the good work, the shows entertaining, the recipes coming and keep those Mimosas flowing…

The restaurant's atmosphere is something of a throwback to pre-WW II Marietta - unpretentious and a bit rustic. The food selection at the dinner theater event we attended was a parmesan crusted chicken and pasta primavera, both gluten-free. They were quite good, as were the cooked veggies, salad and dessert. But, as Shakespeare was quoted, "The play's the thing." And the one we saw, "Two Across", was excellent. The actors both put in fine performances, and, judging from how well the production went overall, the director deserves a lot of credit, too. So, if you're looking for something "authentic " that you probably won't find anywhere else, the dinner theater at The Vineyard is well worth a try. (You might want to bring a seat cushion, though, as the seats in the theater aren't padded.)

My husband and I love coming here for their Dinner Theater! This Cafe is absolutely adorable. We really enjoy the quaint atmosphere. The Buffet Dinner is ‘good home cooked food’ and always delicious. The service and staff are excellent. After dinner, we are seated for entertainment. The actors for their Plays have been ‘spot on’ for the characters they play.
This truly is a great night out, very reasonably priced, and it’s so close to home — Marietta Square.

You will be met at the top of the stairs with a warm friendly greeting. The restaurant has several seating areas with an assortment of tables for two, four or larger groups. Dinner before their plays was a buffet with chicken and vegetarian selections. Following dessert there is an easy transition to the theater area. The stage is small, but the set designers do a great job of setting the tone for each production.

It was great! We went for “A Greater Tuna” as my wife and her family love “A Tuna Christmas”! Two actors playing several characters each with costume and voice changes to match. The dinner prior was classic southern comfort food served buffet style. Choice of a salad, two sides, two entrees, and two desserts. We’ll definitely be back! Keep art alive!

Had a great dinner, bonus-gluten free, and laughed the rest of the night during Greater Tuna. What a talented cast. I have gone to plays at twice the cost, which didn't include dinner, and had a quarter of the fun. Can't wait to go again.

We went to the dinner theater to see “A Greater Tuna”. The play was very funny and entertaining and the acting was amazing – 2 actors playing around 20 parts. We enjoyed the meal which I would describe as comfort food with some creativity added in. I am careful with my diet and was able to choose items that worked for me. It’s a small buffet but 2 choices of entrees plus a salad and several sides and dessert with gluten free options as well. The owners are there cooking and serving and have done a lot to make the whole experience special. This small dinner theater setting makes for a very enjoyable evening. We have been to the dinner theater a number of times before and also frequently for lunch and highly recommend both.

Located in the heart of lively Marietta square you can find both a nice restaurant with home cooking style meals AND a quaint small intimate theater.  Betty Bray and Co. have started up local dinner theater with panache and we LOVE it. Having been a patron of BOTH "theater of the stars" and "Atlanta Broadway series" at the Fox theater since 1998 and taken several trips to New York to see musical/plays, we have seen them all. This theater is charming, the food always good and the plays selected (to date) funny and whimsical. Not only does it save us driving downtown, parking, finding a restaurant we are happy to support the local community. Of all places you need to try in 2018 give the vineyard cafe a shot it MAY not be your cup of tea but it COULD be...!

We LOVE the Vineyard Cafe.  The owners are so friendly and they are also the cooks!!  We have never had a bad meal there.  The food is always very tasty and the price includes salad, main course, beverage and dessert & a play, but I will get to that in a second..  We look so forward to dining there.  It is a quaint venue being on the Square in Marietta.  The facility is small and just lovely.  It is the best date night ever.  It is great to be able to go to dinner and just into the next room and see a play. Now, about the plays.  We love the plays as well.  They are small with only a handful of actors (can count them on one hand), and it is totally amazing what they can do in a small space and with only a few actors. It is a small intimate setting that you share with the actors. They do a great job and are always entertaining. We have tried to go to each and every new offering they have and have laughed and always left with a smile on our face and both of us saying "what a great night". (We are FOX Theater Patrons and we totally enjoy these plays just as much). I have asked for seasons tickets which are not yet available so we buy each time they have a new show.  I would recommend this to anyone wanting a wonderful relaxing night out and it's on the beautiful SQUARE IN MARIETTA.

Small Dinner Theater, upstairs, on the Marietta Square. We were seated at a Window seat for the Buffet, before the play, which is held in a different room. If you can get these seats, you have a Great view of the Square during dinner! The food was good and tasty, beer and wine were available, nice dessert. Then on to the play in next room. The play was entertaining, and up close and personal. This was one price package, which was reasonable for night out, dinner and play. Would recommend this to everyone.

Great, warm hosts, delicious food, and a really talented cast performing an incredible show. What a great time was had by all dining and watching "Sordid Lives". The most fun I have had in a long, long time!

My fiance surprised me with a date night here. I was must say I was absolutely impressed from beginning till end. Dinner was amazing and the show was even better. This is definitely a hidden gem right near home. Online now looking for tickets to the upcoming shows.

I wish I could give more than five stars for the unbelievable evening I just shared with my family!  We came for the dinner theater to see Driving Miss Daisy. From the beginning we were all blown away - great customer service, AMAZING food + to top it off, an extremely realistic and entertaining rendition of Driving Miss Daisy. I'd highly suggest coming here for an intimate evening with your significant other, friends or family. We'll for sure be back to see Steel Magnolias.

"What a delightful evening on the Marietta Square . Their dinner was great , cozy setting and kudos to the actors for a wonderful, funny , performance! Great for date-nights or with friends !"

"Four friends and I went to the dinner theater here last night and had a WONDERFUL time! We enjoyed a great buffet dinner. The food was delicious. Then we were treated to a play of Steel Magnolias. The play was fantastic and the performers were so talented and pulled me into the story immediately. Even though I have seen the movie of Steel Magnolias numerous times this was still such a refreshing version as the actors made each character their own. I was so thoroughly entertained! The owners were very welcoming and made sure that everyone had a good time. I will most definitely be going again!"

"We had a BLAST!! We’ve been talking about it all morning!! Can’t wait to see what the next show is!"

"Not many places where you can get dinner and a show anymore so was excited about this one! Vineyard Cafe did not disappoint. They had a delicious buffet and the show was fantastic. It is a small venue but the actors made the best use of the space they had and really entertained. Am looking forward to going again".

"My boyfriend and I attended Opening Night and were delighted with the production and acting. This was a wonderful evening with dinner and the play. We had such a great time. We found the actors to be accomplished and very approachable afterwards taking pictures with the audience members. Highly recommended!!!"

Saw the "The Gin Game" here. Excellent performance by both actors. The set was great for such a small stage. Intimate theater in a great old building.

A Great Evening for locals and visitors

My sisters and I—six of us total...3 live in Marietta, 2 from Florida and one from Tennessee—met up for a weekend visit and went to the Vineyard Cafe and Dinner Theater and saw Steel Magnolias. The dinner was delicious and the the play even more so! What a wonderful night out for us and we will do it again when we meet up in Marietta.
